Average Tuition

Most state or public universities in Germany are tuition-free. However, all public institutions require a semester contribution that ranges between €100 and €400. The semester contribution is not the tuition fee; it includes your student services (social contribution and mobility contribution), student body contribution (ASTA), and a semester ticket, which allows you to use public transportation. However, there are certain institutions where you pay mostly for specialized programs or private universities, with tuition ranging from €5,000 to €15,000 annually.

Average Cost of Living

Cities like Munich and Hamburg tend to be more expensive and can average around €861 per month, including semester contribution, accommodation, feeding, health insurance, and other expenses, while in other cities the average cost will vary depending on your living standards. You can also live below or above the average cost.
